Personalized AI driven template building experiences.

As the Engineering Manager for the Growth Conversion group, I set and prioritized the technical and operational vision for teams focusing on the conversion of Squarespace users to subscribers. This included the Template Store, Blueprint, and additional AI-driven onboarding experiences. These experiences used a variety of services to personalize experiences for users including LLM agents, extensive prompting, generative AI models, eval tools and our internal data science models. Through strong product partnership, clear communication, and leaner delivery processes, In my first year, we shipped high-impact features that contributed to an estimated 12% increase in annual subscriptions and were awarded Time Magazine’s best inventions of 2025.

I shaped the team’s direction and roadmap with product, authored team documentation, mapped cross squad sequencing of tasks, clarified acceptance criteria, and aligned priorities with broader organization teams. I reinforced effective product–engineering collaboration and ensured dependencies were prioritized.

A key focus has been building and evolving our personalization platform, which powers AI powered templates, onboarding surveys piped into our data science models, and distinct localized content. I helped translate ambiguous requirements into feasible technical approaches.

I sponsored significant technical and UX improvements across core conversion surfaces. This included architectural cleanup, and navigation and flow enhancements that statistically improved user journeys.

Operational excellence was an ongoing responsibility. I improved synthetic monitoring, expanded our test coverage, consolidated alerting and on-call ownership, and played an active role in incident response and retrospectives, strengthening team confidence in observability and escalation. I also encouraged my team to adopt AI in their workflows, with weekly learnings on new workflows with AI tools.

People leadership and execution rigor were central to my role. I led regular coaching and 1:1s focused on growth, prioritization, and technical depth; aligned individual goals to team and org objectives; coordinated staffing and backend dependencies; and maintained planning and onboarding artifacts.
