Redefining News within context.

I came to Reuters to work on the upcoming digital platform for Reuters News. The goal was to completely re-architect the site from the groundup (even the database would be migrated). Our department reported into Chrystia Freeland, who at the time was the Managing Director and Editor, Consumer News at Thomson Reuters.

This new platform was built with new technology including python, mongoDB, Backbone with nodejs, Mustache templating and SASS styling. I worked within the design team to focus exclusively on revisions, rapid prototyping, and excution of complex interactive elements.

This included work on a completely new header, with loader and autocomplete functionality, new stream interactions, and new pinned content styling.

Project released: 2013My responsibilities included technology leadership, frontend/backend development and prototyping.
